Bangor & Bar Harbor

After leaving New Hampshire, we migrated north to Bangor, ME staying 5 days, 25-29 June, at Pumpkin Patch RV "Resort".  There's not much in Bangor to do tourist wise.  We saw a couple movies, Iron Man 3 and The Heat.  Both movies were decent enough.  It rained our entire visit.  Nasty.  Where's the sun!

On Friday, the 29th, we drove down to Bar Harbor Oceanside KOA, to meet up with Gary and Marti on the 29th.  Bar Harbor was definitely the better of the two cities to experience the area.  It was about 45 minutes away and an easy enough drive.  We stopped in the city of Bar Harbor and had lunch at Stewman's on the doc side--my first hardshell lobster of the trip.  It was tasty, but pricey.

Gary took us to have a couple beers at a local micro-brew, Atlantic Brewing Co.  Whitey served Gina and I a beer they call the Combo which was half of their coffee beer and half cole port.  Hope I didn't mess the names up.  They were really good and we'd wished we'd gotten some of the coffee brew to take with us.  After a couple, we took the drive up to Cadillac mountain...well, part of the way.  It was too foggy to see anything really so Gary turned around.

Went back to Gary and Mari's toy hauler and had a couple drinks and visited some before heading out to dinner at Simone's in Ellsworth, ME.  The visit was pretty damned good despite the bad weather.
